Imagine my delight when I heard I'd be photographing this stunning wedding on Waiheke Island.
I spent my youth running nudie around the beaches in Sandy Bay and grew up to live on this beautiful island for a time. I was also lucky enough to have the most special resident taxi driver I could ask for - my very own dad!
Bronwyn and Andrew's wedding was a stunning mix of relaxed island vibes and an exquisite aesthetic. Waiheke's Puriri Valley Lodge hosted their guests for an extended weekend as well as the ceremony and reception, meaning their guests were as comfortable and relaxed as I have ever seen at a wedding.
Bronwyn's amazing wedding dress was a deep, rich red and if you are as enamoured with it as I am, you can find it, and more similar, at Gallery Serpentine.
Being held in a remote and secluded wee spot, Bronwyn and Andrew brought in their good friends at Apéro on Karangahape Rd to cater for them. The meals were absolutely phenomenal, and as someone who eats a vegan diet, I was personally so touched to be presented with such thoughtful options.
Bronwyn and I went to school together and had other connections during that time, however we really got to know each other through our parenting journeys, when our paths crossed again. It delighted me to see how happy Andrew made her, and on meeting him, it was very clear that they were just made for each other.
It was a privilege for me to document their day.
Here are a few of my favourite images.
